Easter Family Fun

by | Blogs

The Easter holidays are fast approaching and aside from the Easter weekend, lots of parents will be scratching their heads thinking of ways to keep the family entertained without spending a fortune. Here are some of our top tips!

Easter egg hunt

Join one of the National Trust and Cadbury’s Easter Egg Hunts with your little ones, to help keep the magic of Easter alive whilst enjoying the great outdoors.

You could always join forces with family and friends and set up your own egg hunt in the garden or a local park; hide a range of chocolate eggs and arm each child with a bucket or basket to collect their chocolate treasure.

An Easter film fest

In case of the inevitable April showers, why not host a fun family film day at home for the children, with popcorn and sweet-treats? Introduce the children to classics such as Watership Down or Hop, or indulge in your particular family favourites.

If you want to get out of the house, why not organise a trip to the cinema and watch the new Peter Rabbit movie.

Easter crafting

Embrace the tradition of the Easter bonnet and task your children with decorating the best one to win a prize.  Shops such as Hobby Craft and The Works have tons of seasonal crafting ideas and products.

To keep costs down, you could simply turn the dining table into an arts and crafts area, and just use materials you have in the house. A painting of a bunny, an Easter collage or making some cute Easter cards for family members will keep little hands busy.

The great outdoors

Embrace a free day out in the great outdoors. Not only will it keep your family entertained, it’s friendly on the purse and will ensure you all get some fresh air too. Win, win.

Visit a local country park, beach or forest. Add a splash of organised fun by preparing an activity sheet for each of the children with different things to tick off as they go along, whether that be spotting a certain type of tree or wildlife or collecting things such as pine cones or shiny pebbles.
